The Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) hosted its highly anticipated Green Fest 2.0, a vibrant three-day celebration held from October 15 to 17, bringing together students, faculty, and alumni in a grand showcase of creativity, culture, and campus spirit.
The campus came alive with excitement as the festival featured a range of events designed to highlight student talent, foster unity, and promote environmental awareness. The celebration kicked off on October 15 with a dynamic Flash Mob, instantly setting a festive tone across the campus.
On October 16, the festivities continued with creative classroom decorations under the theme “Our Class, Our Theme”, an exciting Students vs. Alumni Cricket Match, and a lively Open Mic session filled with music, laughter, and cultural expression. The day concluded with a Food Preparation Event, adding a delicious flavor to the celebrations.
The final day, October 17, featured Cultural Fusion performances, Classroom Exhibitions, and the innovative SDG Canvas, where students showcased their ideas on sustainability. A special SDG Seminar inspired participants to “think green,” while a heartfelt Tribute to Gaze and a vibrant Alumni Performance added emotional and cultural depth to the occasion. Among the ten departments, the Department of EEE won the championship in the “My Class, My Theme” competition, while the Department of CSE secured the runner-up position. In the cricket tournament, the regular students’ team emerged as champions, with the alumni team finishing as runners-up.
The festival concluded with soulful folk melodies by Shah Muhammad Shipon and Team, followed by an electrifying performance from the popular band Level Five, bringing the crowd to their feet.
Reflecting on the event’s success, Prof. Dr. Md. Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor of Green University, said, “This festival is a shining example of our students’ creativity, cultural harmony, and environmental awareness. We are committed not only to classroom-based academics but also to nurturing students’ creativity, leadership, enthusiasm, and talent.”
Green Fest 2.0 was more than just a celebration—it embodied GUB’s commitment to creativity, teamwork, and sustainability, reinforcing the university’s vision of a green campus and celebrating the vibrant spirit of its student community.
