As part of continuous efforts to make the mobile financial services (MFS) sector safer by enhancing coordination between field-level MFS agents and law enforcement agencies, bKash recently organised a workshop titled “Preventing Misuse of Mobile Financial Services” in Satkhira. Throughout the year, bKash conducts regular monitoring and awareness activities for agents and all relevant stakeholders to ensure platform security and transparency, a press release said.

The workshop discussed in detail about the measures need to be taken to keep MFS services secure, how to coordinate with law enforcement agencies, and how to operate businesses in compliance with regulations. The workshop, jointly organised by Satkhira District Police and bKash at the Shushilan Tiger Point Conference Room, was attended by 50 bKash agents alongside channel partners and local police members.

The workshop was attended by Md. Mukit Hasan Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration & Finance) of Satkhira District Police, and Major A. K. M. Monirul Karim (retd), EVP & HoD, External Affairs of bKash, along with other senior officials from Satkhira District Police and bKash.

Throughout the day-long workshop, agents were encouraged to follow rules properly through case descriptions, contextual discussions, and video messages. In addition to raising awareness, guidance was provided on bKash’s various initiatives to prevent crimes committed through MFS misuse.

On the other hand, how members of the law enforcement agencies can use the information obtained about criminal syndicates to identify and bring them to justice is also discussed in detail.

bKash continues its utmost efforts to keep its platform secure by strictly complying with all relevant laws. As part of this, bKash proactively monitors all agent activities through the AML360 app and takes appropriate action in case of any irregularities. The company conducts awareness activities throughout the year to make its stakeholders aware of such issues.
