A seminar titled “Contribution of the real estate sector to the economy of Bangladesh” was held on the important role and future prospects of the real estate sector in the economy of Bangladesh. This seminar, organized by the Real Estate Research Standing Committee of REHAB, was held at the Green Garden of Daffodil International University on Saturday evening, a press release said.
The chief guest of the event was Md. Wahidduzzaman, President of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB). At the seminar, he said that the real estate sector is one of the main driving forces of the country’s economy today. This sector is not only affecting the urban but also the rural economy. If improved planning, research and policy cooperation increase, the real estate sector will be able to play a greater role in the growth of Bangladesh’s GDP. He said that REHAB has started research work after a long time. It will be ongoing.

Daffodil International University Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masum Iqbal was present as a special guest. He discussed the emerging challenges and opportunities of the real estate sector.
The seminar was presided over by REHAB Director and Chairman of the Real Estate Research Standing Committee Dr. Md. Harun Or Rashid.
Professor Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, Professor Dr. Aman Uddin Mujahid, Mohammad Mahbub Kaiser presented their views in the seminar.
The speakers said that this sector is directly It directly and indirectly affects more than 250 industries and creates employment for 4 million people. Especially cement, steel, electric, ceramic, banking, insurance and transport sectors are directly related to this industry. For the proper development of the real estate sector, well-planned urbanization, modern housing policies, and environmentally friendly construction technologies are needed. With research-based planning and policy support from the government, this sector can make a greater contribution to the sustainable development of the country. The organizers said that in the future, such seminars and research programs will be organized regularly to make the real estate sector a strong industry based on research and technology.
