Eastern University is deeply saddened to announce that Professor Dr. A. K. M. Saiful Majid, a member of the University’s Board of Trustees and former Chairman, and eminent educationist, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 morning while undergoing treatment (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun). He was 68 years old at the time of his death, a press release said.
Professor Dr. A. K. M. Saiful Majid was the former Director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He has played a long and important role as a leading educationist in the field of business education and management in Bangladesh. His leadership and academic contributions will remain an exemplary example in the higher education arena of the country.
The Eastern University family expresses its deep condolences on his passing. The university prays for the eternal peace of his soul and extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved family members.
