DHAKA : Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Faruk E Azam, Bir Protik, today received a cheque of Taka 24 lakh from HDFC, Sinpower Ltd on behalf of the Chief Adviser (CA) to assist people affected by recent floods.
The donation was handed over at the adviser’s office at the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, the ministry said in a press release signed by Md Enayet Hossain, Information and Public Relation Officer.
The adviser expressed gratitude to the organisation for extending support to flood-hit families.
Disaster Management and Relief Secretary Md Mostafizur Rahman, Sinpower Ltd Managing Director Su Zhen and Head of Finance Liu Yize were present at the handover ceremony.
The Disaster Management and Relief Adviser has so far received 243 cheques, pay-orders and bank drafts amounting to Tk 101 crore 40 lakh 72 thousand and 303 for the Chief Adviser’s Relief and Welfare Fund.
