JCI Dhaka Cosmopolitan celebrates the 5th year of Project “Rise on Wheels”, empowering underprivileged individuals to achieve financial independence. JCI Dhaka Cosmopolitan proudly marks the 5th year of Rise on Wheels, a signature initiative dedicated to empowering underprivileged individuals in Botlagari, Saidpur, Nilphamari through sustainable livelihood opportunities. Since its inception, the project has enabled deserving community members to earn a steady income by providing income-generating rickshaws, fostering self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and long-term financial stability. This year, four rickshaws were distributed to four individuals, equipping them with the means to earn sustainably and improve their families’ quality of life. By focusing on self-employment opportunities, the project addresses immediate economic challenges while creating long-term social and economic impact within the community. Over the course of the first four years, 10 rickshaws were distributed, and in this fifth year, an additional four were added, bringing the total to 14.
“Rise on Wheels is more than a project; it is a pathway to empowerment,” said Khondker Nasif Akhter, Local President of JCI Dhaka Cosmopolitan. “By equipping individuals with the means to earn sustainably, we are helping families build brighter and more secure futures in Botlagari.”
The initiative targets communities where unemployment and lack of stable income have made daily survival a challenge for many families. Through access to rickshaws and income-generating opportunities, Rise on Wheels fosters financial independence, resilience, and hope among beneficiaries.
