Find out what this means for APAC, home of “AI Frontier” companies

APAC is no longer just participating in the global AI race – it is setting the pace. 78% of surveyed professionals use AI at least weekly, compared with 72% globally, driven by bottom-up adoption from hyper-connected consumers, high device penetration, and digitally fluent younger populations. This momentum is reinforced by robust investment, CEO-led strategies, and fast-growing digital markets, making APAC the world’s most dynamic AI proving ground, a press release said.

By 2026, AI will mainstream deepfakes, blur real vs fake content, empower cybercrime across the attack chain, challenge regulation, and simultaneously transform cybersecurity operations through AI-driven, automated, decision-focused SOCs.

“AI is reshaping cybersecurity from both sides. Attackers are using it to automate attacks, exploit vulnerabilities, and create highly convincing fake content. At the same time, defenders are applying AI to scan systems, detect threats, and make faster, smarter decisions. AI is a powerful tool for both offense and defense, and the ability to manage it safely will definitely influence the future of cybersecurity,” — comments Vladislav Tushkanov, Research Development Group Manager at Kaspersky.

For his part, Adrian Hia, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky said, “Asia Pacific is setting the global pace for AI adoption, with consumers and enterprises advancing faster than any other region. This momentum is creating tremendous opportunity, but also redefining how cyber threats emerge and scale. As businesses navigate this shift, they can rely on Kaspersky’s more than 20 years expertise to strengthen their defenses.”

To safeguard AI-driven transformation, Kaspersky advises APAC organizations to keep systems updated, restrict public RDP access, deploy Kaspersky Next for full threat visibility, leverage Threat Intelligence to track evolving attacker methods, and maintain isolated, accessible backups for rapid recovery during incidents.
