MG Bangladesh officially launched the MG HS Hybrid+ and MG HS Super Hybrid (PHEV) on January 17, 2026, marking a major milestone in the brand’s commitment to expanding intelligent and sustainable mobility solutions in the country. With introductory prices starting from BDT 49 lacs, the new models reflect a growing focus on fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and practical features suited to everyday driving in Bangladesh, a press release said.
The MG HS Hybrid+ is designed for everyday efficiency and comfort. It is powered by an intelligent hybrid system producing 221.3 BHP and automatically shifts between electric and petrol modes based on driving conditions. The vehicle offers a combined real-world fuel efficiency of up to approximately 23.8 km/L, making it suitable for both urban use and longer journeys.
The MG HS Super Hybrid (PHEV), priced at BDT 59 lacs, offers extended electric driving capability. Equipped with a 24.7 kWh battery, it provides over 120 km of pure electric range, allowing for emission-free driving in daily use. When combining electric power with a full fuel tank, the vehicle offers a total driving range of more than 1,000 km. MG Bangladesh is also including a complimentary 7.4 kW home charging station with each HS Super Hybrid at no additional cost.
Speaking at the launch, Hussain Mashnoor Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer, MG Bangladesh, said, “Today’s launch represents more than the introduction of new models – it reflects MG’s long-term commitment to shaping the future of sustainable mobility in Bangladesh. With the HS Hybrid+ and HS Super Hybrid, we are offering customers advanced technology, superior efficiency, and premium comfort, while setting new benchmarks in the hybrid SUV segment.”
Muhammad Mustafizur Rashid Bhuiyan, Executive Director, MG Bangladesh, added, “MG’s legacy of innovation continues with the introduction of these advanced hybrid models. The strong response from customers confirms that Bangladesh is ready for next-generation smart mobility, and the new HS lineup is set to redefine expectations in the C-segment SUV category.”
Both models feature a fully digital interior with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, supporting navigation, connectivity, and intuitive controls. Built on a 2,720 mm wheelbase, the HS lineup offers generous interior space and ride comfort, along with a ground clearance of 176 mm to handle varying road conditions. Exterior design elements include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, and MG’s current global SUV styling.
Practicality and safety remain key strengths of the new HS lineup. The vehicles offer a boot capacity of approximately 507 litres, expandable to over 1,484 liters. Standard safety features include seven airbags, MG Pilot ADAS Level 2, and a PM2.5 air filtration system, alongside a premium multi-speaker sound system designed to enhance the overall driving experience.
