U.S., Bangladesh militaries expand medical cooperation

Major General E. Darrin Cox, Commanding General of the 18th Theater Medical Command, U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC), visited Bangladesh from January 18-22, 2026, to strengthen medical partnerships with the Bangladesh Army Medical Forces, a press release said.

This engagement supported U.S. Indo-pacific Command (INDOPACOM) and U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) goals to enhance collaboration and build partner capacity.  Meetings in Dhaka and visits to Jalalabad Cantonment and Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Sylhet laid the foundation for future joint exercises and expert exchanges in key medical specialties. Major General Cox’s visit highlights the United States’ ongoing commitment to strategic health cooperation with Bangladesh.
