SPIL, AACT host iftar for 440 migrant workers in Singapore

(Singapore, Thursday, March 12, 2026): Summit Power International Limited (SPIL) and Anjuman and Aziz Charitable Trust (AACT) jointly organized an Iftar Mahfil during the holy month of Ramadan in honor of approximately 440 migrant workers, a large majority of whom are Bangladeshi, working in Singapore, a press release said.

Muhammad Aziz Khan PBM, Founder Chairman of Summit Group and Anjuman-Aziz Charitable Trust (AACT), was present at the Iftar gathering. He spent time with the residents of Space at Tuas dormitory and participated in Iftar with the workers.

This is the second Iftar event in Singapore organized by SPIL, the Singapore-based parent company of Bangladesh’s largest private sector power generation company.

In addition to organizing Iftar, SPIL and AACT are involved in long-term social development activities in Bangladesh and Singapore.

Participating in the Iftar, Muhammad Aziz Khan said, “Social responsibility is the foundation of our business and personal lives. It is a pleasure for us to organize this Iftar for migrant workers working in Singapore. A large portion of these workers are Bangladeshis and they are the pioneers of our economic prosperity through sending remittances.”

Muhammad Aziz Khan PBM, a Singaporean citizen of Bangladeshi origin, was awarded the ‘Public Service Medal (COVID-19)’ in October 2023. He was given this state recognition for his special contribution by standing by the side of Bangladeshi migrant workers who were isolated in dormitories during the COVID-19 pandemic.
