BRAC Bank enhances health insurance benefits for credit cardholders

Dhaka : BRAC Bank has significantly enhanced health insurance benefits for credit cardholders making the cards more attractive with value-added services, according to a press release.

For the first time, the bank has added critical illness and in-hospitalisation benefits across all card tiers to its Credit Shield facility, manifesting the bank’s care for health and wellness of the customers.  All BRAC Bank credit cardholders, enrolled for Credit Shield, will avail of BDT 5,000 while Visa Infinite cardholders will be eligible for in-hospitalisation coverage of up to BDT 8,000 per night for up to 30 nights—currently the highest offered by any bank in the market.

In case of natural death or permanent total disability, the outstanding will be waived and the nominee will be entitled to same amount as outstanding balance (with total maximum benefit of BDT 20 lac). For accidental death, on top of outstanding waiver, the nominee will get 3 times the outstanding amount (with combined maximum benefit of BDT 40 lac). The credit cardholders with critical illness will have half of their outstanding balance waived (maximum benefit of BDT 5 lac).

The enhanced coverage offers broader medical protection to help safeguard customers during emergencies. The credit card proposition inbuilt with insurance coverage enhances the value that bank adds to the customers and shows the bank’s commitment to designing customer-centric products.  Credit Shield is designed to provide financial protection against medical emergencies and income loss. With this expansion, BRAC Bank strengthens its risk coverage offering, reinforcing its commitment to financial security of the cardholders at time of crisis.

The existing Credit Shield enrolled cardholders will automatically be eligible while the new primary credit cardholders can opt-in during application or afterward through our branches.
