BRAC Bank has won the Gender Data Champion Award from the New York-based Financial Alliance for Women. This is the seventh time BRAC Bank has received an award from the Financial Alliance for Women.
BRAC Bank has won the prestigious Champions of the Female Economy Award under the category of Gender Data Champion. The accolade was conferred to BRAC Bank for using data to understand and serve women through its comprehensive Women Banking Segment ‘TARA’. Financial Alliance for Women lauded BRAC Bank’s gender-disaggregated data practices, which help gain a deeper understanding of how and where the bank should prioritise and support women.
The award was formally announced at the Champions of the Female Economy Awards 2025 in Kampala, Uganda, on May 28, 2025. Nurun Nahar Begum, Chief Technology Officer; and Mehruba Reza, Head of TARA, Agami and Premium Banking segments, BRAC Bank, received the award from Inez Murray, Chief Executive Officer, Financial Alliance for Women.
Since its inception, BRAC Bank TARA has been providing dedicated banking services to women from all socioeconomic strata, helping them realise their full potential. Over the years, TARA has earned a reputation in Bangladesh as an enabler of women’s dreams.

As a unique network with members from over 135 countries, the forum shares the ambition of unlocking the total value of the female economy.
