DHAKA : The 12th National Conference of the Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Bangladesh (APSB) was recently held at Seagull Hotel in Cox Bazar, according to a press release.
Renowned pediatric surgeons of the country participated in various sessions in this conference. Every year, a distinguished pediatric surgeon is awarded the Professor Quazi Quamruzzaman Best Pediatric Surgeon Gold Medal at the conference. This medal is given in the name of Professor Quazi Quamruzzaman, the founder of the Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Bangladesh, a brave freedom fighter, Ekushey Padak recipient, and Chairman of Dhaka Community Hospital Trust. This year, this medal was received by Professor Dr. Jahanara Alauddin, currently serving as the head of the Pediatric Anesthesia Department at Shishu Hospital. He has been working here since the beginning of pediatric surgery.
The chief guest was Sayedur Rahman (Special Assistant to the Health Advisor), special guests were Md. Sayedur Rahman (Secretary, Health), Dr. Md. Sawar Bari (Secretary, Health Education and Family Welfare), Professor Mohammad Saiful Islam (President, BM&DC), Professor Dr. Nazmul Hossain (Director, DGME), Professor Dr. Md. Abu Zafar.
