Islami Bank launches debit card for foreign currency holder

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has launched Mastercard branded international debit card for foreign currency account holders, a press release said.

Through these cards, Resident Foreign Currency Deposit (RFCD), Foreign Currency Current (FCC) and Exporters Retention Quota (ERQ) account holders of Islami Bank will be able to transact foreign currency at home and abroad. Md. Omar Faruk Khan, managing director inaugurated the cards on 7 August 2025, Thursday at Islami Bank Tower. Md. Altaf Hossain, Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder additional managing directors, Syed Mohammad Kamal, country manager and Sohail Alim, director of Mastercard Bangladesh, Mahmudur Rahman, Md. Rafiqul Islam, Muhammad Sayeed Ullah, K.M. Munirul Alam Al-Mamoon and Dr. M. Kamaluddin Jasim, deputy managing directors were present in the program as special guests. Md. Mosharraf Hossain, head of Digital Bankig Wing addressed the welcome speech. Executives and officials from both organizations were present on the occasion.
