NSU hosts workshop on “Burnout Management: Work-Life Balance”

DHAKA : The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell and the Counselling and Wellbeing Center of North South University (NSU) jointly organized a workshop on “Burnout Management: Work-Life Balance” for faculty members at the Syndicate Hall on Tuesday. The session was facilitated by seasoned clinical psychologist Rubina Jahan, a press release said.

The event aimed to promote mental health and wellbeing among university faculty. Various self-care and coping strategies were discussed and demonstrated. This initiative is part of NSU’s continuous effort to address the growing stress on university faculty members and to empower them with evidence-based interventions.

In his opening speech, Professor Halimur R. Khan, Director of Institutional Quality Assurance, emphasized the often-overlooked psychological needs of faculty and called for developing a comprehensive wellbeing program to enhance teacher engagement.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury stressed the importance of health and proper balance to ensure long-term productivity. In his closing remarks, he outlined the university’s steps to enhance wellbeing and its future vision, reaffirming NSU’s commitment to continuing such programs.

Over thirty faculty members from different departments participated in the workshop, which concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session. Participants acknowledged the value of the program and appreciated the initiative.
