In Chittagong a person has been accused of being ridiculed on social media as a ‘moneylender’ a terrorist, and even a ‘Rajakar’ and a product of the Jamaat-Shibir’ for sharing news published by a national daily on Facebook.The victim has filed a written complaint with the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner.
According to the complaint source, the victim’s name is Md.Alauddin. He is a resident of Jalalabad area of Bayezid Bostami police station in Chottogram city.On 30 August 2025 he shared the news of the National Daily on his own Facebook ID.The names mentioned as opponents in this incident are 1) Shahjahan Chowdhury 2) Md.Istiak Chowdhury and their associates.The complaint states that opponents became angry after sharing the post.Md. Istiak Chowdhury posted several defamatory posts on his Facebook page,calling Alauddin a ‘moneylender’ and a ‘terrorist’.He was even attacked politically,calling him a ‘Razakar’ and a ‘product of the Jamaat Shibir’.More than a hundred people liked shared and commented on these posts. According to Alauddin,these comments and posts have left him mentally disturbed,socially humiliated and insecure.He further claimed in the complaint that screenshots of these posts and comments have been saved and provided to the law enforcement agencies.
