Pirojpur starts investment disbursement under refinance scheme

An open investment disbursement program was held recently in Pirojpur as an initiative of Bangladesh Bank under its refinancing scheme for marginal and landless farmers, low-income professionals and small businessmen. The event was facilitated through the lead bank system, managed by Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC. Hasan Kazi Taufikur Rahman, Additional Director of the Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank was present as the Chief Guest at the ceremony. Md. Firoz Ahmed, Deputy Director of Bangladesh Bank; Md. Zillur Rahman Patwary, Executive Vice President of Islami Bank and Sardar Md. Zahid Hossain, Deputy General Manager of Sonali Bank PLC, Pirojpur Principal Office attended the program as special guests. Md. Sarwar Hossain, Head of Barishal Zone of Islami Bank presided over the program while Muhammad Mahbubur Rahman, Head of Pirojpur Branch, delivered the welcome speech. Regional representatives from various banks were also present on the occasion, a press release said.
