The three-day-long 51st Aga Khan Gold Cup Golf Tournament-2025 concluded on Saturday (18 January) at the Kurmitola Golf Course, said an ISPR press release.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan, attended the prize distribution ceremony at the Banquet Hall of Kurmitola Golf Club as the chief guest and distributed awards among the winners.
Around 500 golfers, including local and foreign members of Kurmitola Golf Club and participants from different golf clubs across the country, competed in the tournament.
Brigadier General Mohammad Zahid Hasan (Retd) emerged as the winner, while Major Sheikh Mohammad Yusuf Reza (Retd) secured the runner-up position. Shamim Ara Sadek was recognised as the Lady Winner.
The event saw the presence of distinguished guests, including Lieutenant General Mohammad Shaheenul Haque, Commandant of National Defence College and Vice President of Kurmitola Golf Club; Madad Ali Virani, President of Prince Aga Khan Council; Brigadier General Md Towhid Hossain, Club Captain; Brig Gen Abidur Reza Khan (Retd), Chairman of the Tournament Committee; Colonel Md Shahidul Haque (Retd), Club CEO; Colonel SM Sajjad Hossain, Club Secretary; Prof Shaheen Mahbuba Haque, Lady Captain of Kurmitola Golf Club; Lt Colonel Abu Md Saidur Rahman (Retd), General Manager (Club Affairs); and Lt Colonel Md Anwar Hossain (Retd), General Manager (Golf Operations).
Senior officials of the Bangladesh Air Force, senior representatives from Prince Aga Khan Council Bangladesh, and other high-ranking military and civilian dignitaries were also present.
The Chief of Air Staff formally inaugurated the tournament on Friday (17 January) as the chief guest.
